WAM: Power Of Poker Charity TournamentIf you are keen on taking part in the 2021 WSOP Main Event which has a $10,000 buy-in but are struggling to come up with the funds, you should look at special promotions that give you an opportunity to play the Main Event for a fraction of the buy-in.

Maria Shriver, the wife of former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is putting together a special women’s charity poker tournament that will take place on October 1. The charity poker tournament “Power of Poker” will start at 6 pm at the Jamul Casino in San Diego. All of the funds from this event will go to the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement (WAM) – a charity that Shriver founded.

Shriver is passionate about funding the research for Alzheimer’s and different projects related to this incurable disease as her dad Sargent Shriver contracted the disease in 2003 and battled with it till he passed away in 2011. Shriver and her charity are looking to raise more funds through this charity poker drive, even though Shriver is not a poker player.

She is getting a lot of help from the poker community as some of the biggest names in the industry are pitching in to raise awareness of the charity poker tournament and WAM. Maria Ho, Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer and Poker League of Nations founder Lena Evans are just some of the names that pitched in so far.
