PokerStars launched operations in India only in 2018 but the operator has been relentless in its efforts to up the ante and spice up the country’s online poker scene. PokerStars India will host the India Summer Championship of Online Poker (INSCOOP), the Indian version of its popular SCOOP international series.
The festival is set to feature a total of 92 events spread across a two-week schedule, with a combined guaranteed prize pool of just under INR 45 million. INSCOOP 2019 will run from May 23 to 27 and will take place at PokerStars.in
The main highlight of the festival is the 1 Crore-guaranteed Main Event titled “The Mammoth” – PokerStars’ first-ever eight-figure guaranteed prize pool in India. The INR 5500 buy-in event is set to feature 15 starting flights, and will follow a phased freezeout format.
In terms of prize pool, The Mammoth represents PokerStars’ biggest Main Event in the country, followed by the Winter Series Main Event held in December, which featured 35 LAC in guarantees.
Apart from the Main Event, INSCOOP 2019 has plenty of other side events lined up for players of all levels. With buy-ins ranging from INR 330 to INR 12,000, players can take part in a wide array of formats, such as progressive knockouts (PKO), freezeouts and re-entries, hypers, rebuys, plus a host of PokerStars’ novelty variants like Bubble Rush, Win the Button and 3-Stack.
There will also be two high roller events on the schedule, each with a buy-in of INR 12,000 and guaranteeing 20 LAC. In addition to that, PokerStars will also host a 30 LAC-guaranteed Sunday Special Edition happening on May 19.
Freerolls and APPT Packages
The online poker giant is giving everyone plenty of chances to get in on the action through daily freerolls as well as deposit promos running throughout the series. Daily INSCOOP freerolls will award 1.4 LAC worth of tournament tickets, plus 6.5 LAC will also be given away via second-chance freerolls.
What makes the festival more exciting is the chance to win a package to the Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila which takes place on July 26-August 4. To be eligible, players need to enter a minimum of eight INSCOOP 2019 events. They will then compete for five APPT packages in a wrap-up freeroll which will run on May 27.
INSCOOP 2019 is PokerStars’ latest initiative in a bid to provide a challenge to India’s top online poker rooms, such as Adda52. With huge guarantees and a plethora of events catering to amateurs, recreational players and seasoned pros, INSCOOP 2019 gives major online poker competitors like The Spartan Poker and PokerBaazi a run for their money.
