Asian Poker Tour: Online Series - IndiaIndia’s leading online gaming site PokerBaazi.com has inked a partnership deal with the Asian Poker Tour (APT). The first product of the new collaboration will be the inaugural APT India Online Series 2021, a major online poker festival which is set to give away a massive INR 8 crores (approx. $1.1 million) in guaranteed prize pool.

The brand-new series will feature a total of 48 tournaments, running across 12 days of poker action, from January 15 to January 26, 2021. PokerBaazi.com will play host to the festival, which will be headlined by the INR2 crore guaranteed Main Event.

The APT will try to tap into India’s booming online poker market by joining forces with the country’s most trusted online poker site.

Both Live & Online Events Expected in 2021

PokerBaazi.com continues to attract Indian players because of the seamless, fair, secure and reliable online experience it offers.

Since launching as an online poker start-up back in 2014, the company has grown to become a dominant player in the Indian poker industry, and is well-known for hosting high-value tournaments, such as The Moneymaker, first online tournament in India to guarantee INR 1 Crore.

Apart from its online offerings, PokerBaazi also runs a live poker room, which makes the partnership more exciting, according to Lloyd Fontillas, APT’s General Manager and Executive Director. He said a live APT event might also make a comeback in India before the end of 2021. Indian players can expect a combination of online and live events as part of the collaboration.

The APT has been organizing poker events since 2008, with its first ever tournament held in Manila, Philippines in May of the same year. Since its inception, it has ran over 80 poker events for players in the Asia-Pacific region, with stops in the Philippines, India, Cambodia, South Korea, Vietnam, Macau, New Caledonia, Australia and London.

The brand is currently one of the biggest poker tours in the world and has so far awarded more than $30 million in prizes. Its latest partnership with PokerBaazi.com means the brand remains fully committed to bring its tournament offerings to more players as it looks to expand its reach.

Navkiran Singh, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Baazi Games, said joining forces with a one of the world’s most valuable poker properties will add another landmark IP to the country’s growing poker landscape.
