World Series of Poker Main EventSummary

  • Players have multiple options to buy-in to the 2023 WSOP Main Event for a much lesser cost
  • WSOP.com is running $215 satellites for the $10,000 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas
  • GGPoker’s Road to Vegas campaign is also ongoing, awarding $12K Main Event packages

The 54th annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) is upon us, with the festival kicking off on May 31.

As usual, the series is headlined by the $10,000 Main Event which could set a new record this year given the multiple promotions run by the WSOP and its partners to send as many players as possible to the prestigious poker tournament held in the US.

The WSOP Main Event is on every poker player’s bucket list, but some choose not to compete because of the huge buy-in. We know that not everyone can afford the $10,000 entry fee, but there are ways for them to get into the tournament for a fraction of the price.

For those who have yet to secure a seat into the Main Event, satellites are still running on both WSOP.com and GGPoker, with the Road to Vegas campaign also in full swing.

Online Satellites on WSOP.com

US players can take the online route in winning a seat into the Main Event. Satellites are currently running on WSOP’s online platforms in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Nevada and Delaware. The satellites cost $215 to enter and each tournament awards one Main Event seat for every $10K collected on the prize pool. The prize comes in the form of $10,000 worth of chips, meaning players may use it to enter other tournaments other than the Main Event.

Take note though that accommodation and travel expenses are not included in the prize.

WSOP.com will also be hosting Seat Springs beginning June 25, where players can win a share of the 112 Main Event tickets up for grabs. In addition to that, the operator will run All-In Satellites each day from June 25 to July 8, with buy-ins of $80 and $126.

GGPoker Road to Vegas Campaign

Players based outside the US also get the chance to win their way into the Main Event for much cheaper through qualifiers available on GGPoker. The qualifiers, which cost as little as $1, form part of the operator’s Road to Vegas promotion which will send at least 600 players to Las Vegas for the 2023 Main Event.

Successful qualifiers are awarded a Main Event package valued at $12,000, which includes the $10K buy-in, accommodation, and travel. GGPoker is also running a separate campaign in Ontario, where satellite winners also receive a similar package.
