The Global Poker Index (GPI) has announced the nominees for the 4th Global Poker Awards.

The voting process was entirely completed this week after the final four of the fan’s choice categories were selected.

Multiple Nominations for Some Players

Several poker personalities have earned multiple nominations, including 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event winner Espen Jørstad, two-time Global Poker Award winner Jamie Kerstetter, and content creators Marie Spragg and Ethan “Rampage” Yau.

Among other prominent names who made the shortlist are Daniel Negreanu, Stephen Chidwick, Phil Galfond, Phil Ivey, Matt Savage, Brad Owen and Lex Veldhuis.

The players in the running for the Players Choice for Toughest Opponent award are Brian Altman, Alex Foxen, Stephen Chidwick and Stephen Song who is already guaranteed to take home two trophies, GPI Player of the Year and GPI Mid-Major Player of the Year.

Jorstad, Yau, Punnat Punsri, Alejandro Lococo “PapoMC”, and Angela Jordison will compete for GPI Breakout Player, while Dan “Jungleman” Cates, Negreanu, Song and Jørstad are nominated for Best Final Table Performance.

Poker legend Phil Ivey made the cut for Comeback Player, alongside Taylor von Kriegenbergh, Daniel Weinman and Alex Keating.

Jamie Kerstetter has once again been nominated for Best Twitter Personality which she won in 2020 and 2022. This year, she’s up against Galfond, Spragg and Will Jaffe. The nominees for the Rising Star in Content Creation include Jesse Fullen, Caitlin Comeskey, Lexy Gavin-Mather and Natalie Bode.

Lew’s Wild J4 Nominated for Best Hand

The controversial J4 hand involving Robbi Jade Lew and Garrett Adelstein was nominated for Fans Choice – Best Hand, alongside Daniel Negreanu’s runner-runner quads in the 2022 Super High Roller Bowl. Also on the list is PapoMC’s monster bluff in the 2022 WSOP Main Event, as well as the massive laydown made by David Diaz on Day 7 of the tournament.

Mori Eskandani, Ryan Beauregard, Tana Karn and Jack Effel are nominated for Best Industry Person. Paul Campbell gets to defend the Best Tournament Director award, with Matt Savage, Ray Pulford and Toby Stone also nominated in the same category.

The nominees for the Best Event are the EPT Barcelona Main Event, the record-breaking WPT World Championship at Wynn Las Vegas, the 2022 WSOP Main Event, and the Triton Poker Coin Rivet Invitational.

The winners will receive their respective trophies during an awards ceremony on March 3 at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.
