888poker XL Winter Series888poker recently rebranded its popular championship online poker series. Previously named “XL Blizzard“, the festival will now be referred to as the “XL Winter Series”, and the latest edition is set to give away at least $1 million in guaranteed prize money. The name-change follows the launch of its latest mobile app update branded as “Made To Play“.

The XL Winter Series adopts the same concept as XL Blizzard. The series will run for 11 days, with tournaments designed for the low to mid-stakes grinders. The festival, which gets underway on December 10, features a total of 34 events, headlined by the $250 buy-in Main Event which comes with a guarantee of $500,000.

For the first time ever, the XL Winter Main Event will take place as a Progressive Knockout tournament. Players will kick off the action with 30,000 in chips, with blind levels lasting 15 minutes. They can re-enter up to four times, with late registration extended to 270 minutes. The Main Event will award a five-figure top prize regardless of whether or not it attracts enough players to reach the guarantee. The event will take place on December 20.

Other value-packed events that players shouldn’t miss include: the $109 buy-in Opening event on December 10; $55 buy-in Tune Up event on December 13; $320 buy-in High Roller on December 15; and a $33 buy-in Mini Main Event PKO on December 20. Players in each of the four events will compete for $50,000 in guarantees.

Follow the Action Via 88poker’s Livestreams

As part of the rebranding from XL Blizzard to XL Winter Series, 888poker will also now livestream more tournaments via their social media channels, a huge improvement from their livestream efforts during the previous editions.

Action from the key events on the schedule will be livestreamed and brought to poker by Nick Wealthall and David Tuchman. You can also expect a number of 888poker ambassadors taking charge of the broadcast booth.

The events that will be livestreamed include the $50K GTD Opening Event on December 10, the Tune Up event on December 13, and the Main Event PKO on December 20. If you want to take part in the huge events for much cheaper, you must stay tuned to the livestreams as it is where 888poker will reveal the details of multiple XL Winter Streaming freerolls, with the site also awarding $33 and $109 worth of tournament tickets.

Another option for you to get into the key events without risking your entire bankroll is joining satellites which come with entry fees of as low as $0.01.
