  • PokerStars will run multiple tournaments on April 30 with $1.5m GTDs
  • $1m goes to the NJ/MI shared player pool, while Pennsylvanians compete for $500K

The final Sunday of April will be a huge and memorable day for poker players in the US as Pokerstars will be hosting tournaments with a combined guarantee of $1.5 million.

The bigger piece of the pie goes to the New Jersey/Michigan pool, as players in both states are set to compete for $1 million in total guarantees. The Sunday party also extends to Pennsylvania, with PokerStars allocating $500K in guarantees for the ring-fenced market.

Million Dollar Sunday for NJ/MI Players

PokerStars will be running a total of 10 tournaments with $1 million in total guarantees on Sunday, April 30, on the newly-launched shared player pool between New Jersey and Michigan.

The action kicks off with the $50 buy-in, $25,000 GTD Sunday Marathon at 1:00 pm, followed by the Sunday Monster at 4:35 pm which comes with a $10 buy-in and a $100,000 guarantee.

The cream of the crop will be the Sunday Special which takes place at 5:00 pm. The tournament costs $200 to enter and features $500,000 in guarantees. Players get one last shot at winning big via the Sunday High Roller at 7:00 pm. This tournament has a buy-in of $1,000 and guarantees $150,000.

$500K in Guarantees Up for Grabs in Pennsylvania

Players in Pennsylvania will follow a slightly similar schedule though they will compete for smaller guarantees compared to their NJ/MI counterparts.

The PA schedule includes the four key tournaments running in the NJ/MI network – the Sunday Marathon has a $15,000 guarantee, while the Sunday Monster has $20,000.

Pennsylvanians will compete for $250,000 in guaranteed prize money in the Sunday Special, with a further $100,000 guaranteed in the Sunday High Roller. All in all, there will be $500,000 in guarantees on offer in the Keystone State on April 30.

PokerStars is running satellites for some of the Sunday tournaments, including the main highlight of the schedule, the Sunday Special. Players can enter the tournament through online qualifiers for as low as $10 or they can secure a seat for free via the Million Dollar Sunday Special Depositors Freeroll promo which is already underway.

Players have several other options to enter the Sunday poker tournaments for much cheaper – they may qualify via special Spin and Go tourneys or through All-In Shootouts.
