PokerStars: Winter SeriesThere is no official confirmation yet but it appears like PokerStars is set to host its second online tournament series in Pennsylvania! PokerStars is currently finalising the schedule of its inaugural Winter Series in the Keystone State.

Unofficial reports state that the tournament will get underway on January 25 and will run through to February 1, just a day before the Super Bowl LIV which takes place on February 2.

The Winter Series debut in Pennsylvania will be marked by a total of 30 events, with buy-ins ranging from $30 to $500. Players are set to compete for five-figure guarantees across most of the events. The series could feature up to $675,000 in total guarantees, $100,000 of that will go to the Main Event.

Football-Themed Series

PokerStars has opted for a football-themed series, with some of the tournaments being named after football sporting terminologies like “The Tackle”, The Handoff” and “The Block”.

The series will start out with three events, the first one will be called “The Warm-Up”, offering $20,000 in guarantees, with an entry fee of $50. It will be followed by the $100 buy-in “The Anthem” which will give away $30,000 in total prize money. “The Coin Toss” will be the final opening event, which features a buy-in of $200 and $15,000 in guarantees.

Among the other highlights of the schedule is “The Blitz” which takes place on January 26, with $50,000 in guarantees up for grabs! The event is a replacement of the $200 buy-in Sunday Special and is something players should consider entering if they want to win big and boost their bankroll.

Other events featuring five-figure guarantees include a $40,000GTD, $250 buy-in Super Tuesday, as well as a Thursday Thrill edition, which gives players the chance to win a slice of the $35,000 in guarantees for a buy-in of $200.

The schedule also features several other popular formats, including Deepstack, PKOs, Big Antes, PLO, and 4-max.

The main highlight of the series will be the Main Event, which will be named “The Big Game”, which carries a buy-in of $300. It will award $100,000 in prize money to the winners. A Mini Main Event will also take place with a more affordable entry fee of just $50. The smaller event offers $25,000 in total guarantees.

Depositor Freeroll

PokerStars PA is also giving players a chance to take part in the Main Event for only $30 through a Depositor Freeroll which takes place on February 1. Simply make a deposit of at least $30 using the code “WINTER” before February 1.
