As divorces go, it is hard to say that any have ever been pleasant or not a big deal. Phil Ivey and his wife Luciaetta broke up in 2009 and at the time everyone seemed to be in an understanding about how alimony payments would be made and exactly how much money Luciaetta would be receiving from Ivey monthly. The agreed upon amount, per month, was $180,000, which to me seems very steep. But now there is a bit of a disconnect between the two parties which has caused the fallout that is currently happening.Everything was fine because Ivey was paying his ex-wife through the money he received from Full Tilt, but as we all know Full Tilt has not been in operation since last April. Because Ivey has not been getting paid for over a half year now he has stopped his payments to Luciaetta for obvious reasons. Luciaetta claims that she has been treated unfairly and was convinced to hire her lawyer by Phil Ivey. She now wants to draft a new divorce agreement, a proposition that Ivey wants to have nothing to do with. Ivey makes a good point in saying that in addition to the hundreds of thousands of dollars she did receive, she was also entitled to physical assets such as houses and jewelry. Luciaetta discredit’s the jewelry because according to her, they were never part of the agreement. This story is a typical story of greed in the wake of a divorce, and we all expect this situation to grow to be very ugly. It will be interesting to see if Ivey’s former wife will even be given the light of day as far as drawing up a new agreement goes.We will continue to update this situation here at Top Ten Poker Sites as more of this stories unfolds.
