The 2020 Goliath Online Series poker tournament officially kicked off on August 1 at Grosvenor Poker, and just two days later, one player walked away with the first five-figure payout to be awarded at the festival.
Goliath #3: 25/50 concluded on August 3, with “LateNightTales“ emerging as the champion for £10,971. The two-day event, which had a buy-in of £225, attracted a 258-entry field to generate £54,180 in total prize pool, surpassing its initial guarantee of £50,000. The top 32 players all received a share of this hefty prize money.
Among those who cashed was Team Grosvenor Pro Joe “JoeBeeversPro” Beevers who took the 20th spot for £541. “GretaThunb3rg“ became the bubble player after busting in 33rd place, leaving the table empty-handed.
Final Table Payouts
Eight players made it to the final table, with “ChrisDobson“ becoming the first casualty, collecting £1,489 for finishing in eighth place. “ColdShowers“ and “Player1382“ busted in seventh and sixth place, taking home £1,896 and £2,438 respectively. “08088080133“ earned £2,979 for their fifth-place finish, with the remaining spots enjoying huge pay jumps.
“TheDuckPond“ received £4,065 in fourth-place winnings, while “amaze“ walked away with £6,230 for finishing third. “BUNTHEFEDS“ was the runner-up finisher, taking home, £10.971.
List of Winners
Goliath #1: The Opener was won by “LeGrandPoisson“ for £6,542, while Goliath #2: PKO was captured by “Zebster1994“ for £2,204. Events 4 & 5 went to “BluffSqaaaaud“ (£3,245) and “whatacrapname“ (£503) respectively.
Goliath #6: NLH 6-Max also took place on the same day, August 3, drawing a total of 545 entries. The event ended up awarding more than £15,000 in prize money, smashing its advertised guarantee by around 50%. The £30 buy-in event was taken down by “beeevil15“ for £2,899, with “MBen1010“ finishing as runner-up for £2,136.
Current Leaderboard Standings
The UK online series also features a leaderboard race which is currently being led by “stakermighty39“ with 225 points. Sitting at No. 2 is “EightPerfect“ with 205 points. “LeGrandPoisson“ and “LateNightTales“ occupy the 3rd and 4th spots respectively.
The player who ends up at the top of the leaderboard is set to receive an entry ticket package worth £1,000, while the second placer will win a £560 GUKPT ticket. A £225 25/25 ticket goes to the third placer, with the 4th – 6th spots each getting a £130 Deepstack ticket. The rest of the top 10 will walk away with a £30 ticket.
