GGPokerSummary:

  • GGPoker awarded over $3 billion in tournament prizes, with nearly four billion hands dealt
  • The past year saw the operator awarding the largest first-place prize in any single online tournament
  • GGPoker is likely to continue its momentum in 2024

GGPoker capped off 2023 with flying colors as the operator once again showed beyond doubt that it is a force to be reckoned with in the online poker sphere.

Based on recently-released figures, GGPoker enjoyed significant growth in almost all of the key categories, including the total tournament prize money awarded and number of hands dealt. The past year also saw it create new records, further cementing its reputation as one of the world’s leading online poker sites.

GGPoker Enjoys Record-Breaking Results for 2023

GGPoker has been enjoying growth year after year, but 2023 was extra special for the operator as it reached a number of new milestones. For the first time ever, the total hands dealt were higher in tournaments than in cash games. Of the 3.8 billion hands dealt throughout the year, 1.92 billion accounted for tournaments.

GGPoker also awarded the biggest first-place prize in a single online poker tournament – an astonishing $2.78 million – which was won by Bert Stevens in the $5,000 WSOP Online Main Event. The tournament itself created a new record after attracting over 6,000 entries and generating $28.6 million in total prize pool, making it the largest single online poker tournament in history.

In terms of the total number of bracelets awarded, 2023 proved to be the biggest year for GGPoker with the operator handing out 41 gold bracelets alongside 72 WSOPC rings in the dot-com and Ontario market.

When it comes to the total prize money paid out in tournaments throughout the year, the figure sat at $3.01 billion, up 10% from the $2.55 billion awarded to players in 2022. A total of $361 million was also distributed to players via giveaways and promotions.

GGPoker attracted 9,050 concurrent cash game seats across 2023, a massive increase of 67% from 2021. The site’s compound annual growth rate (CAGR) from 2021 to 2023 is now at 50%.

More Success in 2024

2024 has just begun but it is safe to say that the upward trend will continue for GGPoker especially as online poker remains hugely popular. We can expect bigger and more exciting things to come as the operator looks to keep its online poker supremacy.
