During the aftermath of Black Friday, a lot of things were figured out, but at the same time there were many issues that needed further discussion and investigation. Before any further action is able to be taken, Absolute, Full Tilt, and PokerStars must offer a response to the allegations that were levied against them back in April. The original plan was for the three sites to have their responses filed by the end of November, but of course it did not happen on time.Since the online poker sites, for whatever various reasons, do not have their responses prepared they filed an order to get an extension on their due date. Surprisingly the DOJ granted an extension to the companies and the three now have until January 2nd to file their responses. It is not very astonishing that these companies need more time because the charges that are weighed against them are numerous and severe. Keep in mind that the US government, more specifically the Southern District of New York, already labeled Full Tilt as being a “ponzi scheme.” I say this because it has been clear for a very long time that these three sites are not in the greatest standing with the government. It also must be said that PokerStars is more than likely going to be facing much less punishment than the others because they were so quick to respond to the original charges and pay players back. Once PokerStars, Absolute, and Full Tilt file their responses, then this big mass can baby crawl a bit further.
