888poker Ontario Mystery Bounty Festival Highlights
888poker Ontario’s Mystery Bounty Festival got underway on February 19, with over 120 events to choose from. Players can enter the events for as low as $1, with the highest buy-in set at $250. Each day, there are plenty of mystery bounty events available, and they will run until March 6.
The main highlight of the festival is the $250 buy-in Main Event which comes with a $100,000 guarantee. It is a multi-flight affair, with Day 1s running from March 1-6. Players start the action with 10,000 chips played to 15-minute levels. Blinds begin at 25/50/5a.
All Day 1 flights come to a close on Level 12, or when just 14% of the field remains. Day 2 of the event takes place on March 6 during which mystery bounties come into play. One lucky player could take home the top bounty prize of $10,000.
On top of the $100K GTD Main Event, the schedule features several events with five-figure guarantees, including the $109 buy-in, $40K GTD Mystery Bounty Main Event. There are multiple $10K GTD events on the line-up as well, such as the MINI Main Event which costs just $22 to enter.
Mystery Bounty has taken the poker world by storm in recent years, with various operators, both live and online, now offering the format. It works just like the regular bounty format wherein half of the buy-in goes to the prize pool while the other half goes onto the head of each player.
But unlike the traditional bounty event where the bounty element is in place right from the start, players need to be aware of their poker strategy in a mystery bounty tournament may only win bounties at a predetermined stage. Players are also not aware of the bounty amounts until they win them.
Main Event Satellites & Freerolls
