Vietnam will be the center of attraction for poker players in Asia next week as the World Poker Tour (WPT) heads to the country for WPT Prime Vietnam, the latest Prime Tour stop of Season XXI.
The series gets underway on May 16 and runs through May 29 at the Crown Poker Club in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi.
WPT Prime Vietnam – Main Highlights
WPT Prime Vietnam features dozens of events with buy-ins ranging from 3,300,000 VND to 210,000,000 VND. There’s a range of formats and poker variants to choose from, including Deepstack, Turbo, Hyper-Turbo, NLH, PLO, Short Deck and Mystery Bounty, with freezeout and re-entry options available.
The series kicks off on May 16 with the WPT Opener which comes with a buy-in of 8,800,000 VND and a guarantee of at least 2,000,000,000 VND.
High rollers will be pleased to know that there are multiple events on the schedule to sink their teeth into, such as the 55,000,000 VND Single Day High Roller on May 16, the 77,000,000 VND Megastack Single Day High Roller on May 21 and the 107,000,000 VND 100M Super High Roller which gets underway on May 25.
The schedule also includes a WPT Ladies Event which runs on May 22 and costs 3,300,000 VND to enter.
The series is headlined by the 25,000,000 VND WPT Prime Vietnam Main Event which offers 12,000,000,000 VND in guaranteed prize money. The tournament has two Day 1 flights running on May 25 and 26, with the finale scheduled for May 29.
Players can win their way into the Main Event for a more affordable price via satellites costing 4,000,000 VND. There are plenty more satellites for other events taking place throughout the series, with buy-ins starting at 770,000 VND.
Busy May for the WPT
May is a busy month for the WPT with multiple events scheduled, including the ongoing Prime Tour series at Card Casino Bratislava in Slovakia which runs until the 15th. The final table of the Main Events for both the WPT Main Tour Choctaw and the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown will also be held on May 25 and 26 in Las Vegas.
