Around the world, there are millions of golfers who would love to hit the greens with legendary golfer Tiger Woods. Tonight, a special tournament hosted by Woods will give players the chance to play a round with the 14-time Major Championship winner…if they can prove their mettle on the greens of the poker felt first. The tournament is part of Tiger Jam, a fundraiser that’s designed to raise money for the Tiger Woods Foundation. The tournament itself – known as Tiger’s Poker Night – will be held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Thursday night.Playing in the event won’t be cheap, of course. The tournament will feature a $10,000 buy-in, which includes a suite at the Mandalay Bay and two tickets to a concert on Saturday night featuring Jon Bon Jovi. While the charitable aspects of the tournament might be enough to attract some high rollers, the tournament also features a number of exclusive prizes that should entice a bigger field. The winner will get to play in a foursome with Tiger Woods himself, while other top finishers can expect to win prizes like a putting lesson from Woods, autographed memorabilia, and entries into PGA Tour Pro-Am events.Several of the top names in the world of poker will also be on hand to help the festivities along. Both Phil Hellmuth and Doyle Brunson are scheduled to take part as hosts. Between the two of them, they have won 21 World Series of Poker bracelets, including three Main Event titles.Since its creation in 1998, the Tiger Woods Foundation has raised over $13 million. The foundation’s goal is to allow children to reach their higher education goals, as well as promoting greater understanding of technology, engineering and math to students of all levels. The foundation also offers mentorships and counseling services to children.
