PokerStars has launched a real money mobile poker app in France, expanding the reach of their growing mobile poker wing. That expansion also included PokerStars.eu, allowing players in Sweden, Finland, Romania, Poland and Slovenia to play in real money online poker games from their phones and tablet devices. While the mobile version of PokerStars is not as fully functional as the standard computer client, it’s still a way for players to access most of the more popular games offered by the site. Players who connect through the mobile app play in the same rooms as other players in those countries – PokerStars.fr for French players, and PokerStars.eu for the others mentioned above.Through the mobile app, players can play in the same cash games and tournaments (both MTTs and sit-and-go events) that other players on the site participate in. However, the app currently restricts the available game types somewhat, with only hold’em and Omaha available at the current time – though developers say more games will be added in the future. Players can even take part in the new Zoom Poker games through the mobile app.PokerStars launched the app in the new markets over the past week, and advertised the program’s functionality at the European Poker Tour Grand Final in Monte Carlo. Players could test the app at a display at the tournament series, where features such as the multi-tabling functionality were shown off. Players have the ability to play up to five tables at a time on the iPad, and up to four tables on most other mobile devices.PokerStars first launched their mobile app in January, with Italy being the first country to receive access to the mobile version of the site. The launch comes at a time when mobile gaming appears to be one of the fastest growing segments of the online gambling industry, particularly in Europe.
