Merge Gaming, which is home to popular poker skins such as Carbon and Lock Poker will be hosting its first large-scale tournament series starting today. The series will last a total of 22 days and will host 70 different individual tournaments. 22 days is a long time, but 70 tournaments is absolutely outrageous.Over the course of the 22 day tournament series, Merge will be giving away over $1.5 million and two of the marquis events both feature a guaranteed prizepool of at least $200,000. Today there will be a variety of different games to suit the needs of every type of player from low stakes to high stakes. Today you will find tournaments with $10, $30, $100, and $200 buy-ins with guaranteed prizepools ranging from as little as $7,500 all the way up to $150,000. As with any big tournament series Merge developed a leaderboard and whoever finishes in the top three when all is said and done will receive a bonus prize from Merge.Every day of the series there are going to be at least 2 events happening, and on Sundays you can see up to four events going on. Currently, Merge and sites like Lock Poker and Carbon Poker are the top choice for US-based players who still want to play online poker. The Poker Maximus Tournament series should help Merge and their poker skins be the undisputed top picks for online poker in the US. When looking at the big picture, the Merge Network currently ranks 8th in the world as far as daily traffic goes and this event will hopefully boost them up a spot or two.
