Update April 23rd, 2012: Unfortunately we bring sad news that the shameful Merge Gaming Network has decided to cancel this event. This is after they gave full approval to Lock management to run such a great event. Were curious whether the other Merge Poker Sites had something to do with this. We here at toptenpokersites.org still support Lock Poker as the number 1 poker site on the merge poker network and are ashamed at Merge for their lack of vision.Lock Poker, Merge Gaming Network’s most popular online poker site, recently announced that it would be running a massive tournament series called LOCKOPS. The Lock Online Poker Series tournaments, will run from Sunday May 6th until Sunday May 20th, and over the course of 14 days over $2 million is guaranteed to be given away. There will be a leaderboard and the two top grand prizes which will see two players being given the chance to play in the Main Event of this year’s World Series of Poker.During the course of LOCKOPS there will be 33 events in 14 days and all of Lock Poker’s LockPro Elite team members will be participating. If you are lucky enough to knock one of these poker pros out of an event you will be rewarded a cash prize based on that pro’s bounty. Be careful though, because many Lock Poker pros have been dominating the live poker scene lately. Names like Chris Moorman and Melanie Weisner have both had recent impressive finishes in the European WSOP as well as the European Poker Tour. The Leaderboard during the LOCKOPS tournament series is going to help a lot of people because prizes will be awarded for overall performances. The top 100 players throughout the duration of the tournament will be entered into a special, exclusive tournament. How your leaderboard points are determined are based off of the buy-in of the tournament event as well as how you finished in the event. Obviously, you will receive more points for finishing near the top in a higher buy-in tournament than you would if you finished in the same spot in a smaller buy-in event. If you win any event during the LOCKOPS tournament series you will be automatically entered into the Champion of Champions tournament. The top two finishers in the Champions of Champions tournament will be rewarded with a Main Event prize package to the World Series of Poker, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.Buy-ins for this exclusive Lock Poker tournament series range from being as little as $22 to as large as over $500 which means that there is an event for almost every type of bankroll.
