Over the last three years, Germany professional Marvin Rettenmaier has been one of the most prolific players in European poker. He had done most of this as a member of the Titan Poker team, until he recently ended his association with the site (I cant say we blame him – we do not encourage anyone to join Titan Poker). Now, Rettenmaier will become a part of Team Party Poker, joining a star-studded lineup that includes a number of top pros sponsored by the site.“I am pleased to join Team Party Poker,” said Rettenmaier. “It feels like a natural move for me.”Many of the pros who were already working with Party Poker expressed excitement about bringing the 25-year-old Rettenmaier on board.“It is great to have Marvin on board,” said Tony G. “He has the Germanic mathematical game and he has heart.”Tony G also referenced Rettenmaier’s reputation as a partier – something several of the Party Poker pros seemed to welcome.“He is a serious talented poker player,” said Team Party Poker member Kara Scott. “On top of that, though, he is a friend and one of the most fun people to hang out with on the poker circuit. I am looking forward to many more nights of karaoke, ‘Mad Marvin’ style!”The signing of Rettenmaier comes during a period of change for German online poker. While most of the country still has rather strict regulations and limitations, the state of Schleswig-Holstein is offering an unlimited number of licenses for operators, and nobody would be surprised to see Party Poker parent company bwin.party try to snag a license in the near future.Few players would make better representatives in the German poker community than Rettenmaier. He’s fresh off a victory in a side event at the European Poker Tour Grand Final, and previously has wins on the France Poker Series and the Spanish Poker Tour. Over his three-year career, he has won over €1.3 million in live tournament play.
