Over the past year Lock Poker has added a number of players to the LockPRO Elite team and the newest addition goes by the name of Pedro Maia. Maia, who hails from Portugal is just another name added to the growing list of Lock Pros. Players like Melanie Weisner, Leo Margets, and Chris Moorman are all other additions that have been made over the course of the past year or so.While Maia is not exactly a household name quite yet, he has shown off his skill in tournaments in and around Portugal. Maia only began playing poker in 2007 and two years after that he had quit his job in hopes of becoming a successful poker pro, and he has done just that. Pedro shines in tournaments, but most of his earnings are brought in through online play where he is a king at playing multiple tables. After he was signed, Maia produced a press release that read, “I am delighted to join Lock Poker, a professional team of the highest level, with the Top international and Portuguese players, counting in its ranks with players of international reputation. Lock Poker is a room of the highest quality, to which I hope to bring my best contribution, at the same time as the exchange of experiences in this vast team will allow both personal development, and to Lock Poker itself as a poker room, continuing its growth and increasing brand awareness.”Pedro Maia joins Francisco Santos as the only two Portuguese pros on the LockPRO Elite team. In his own press release, Santos had nothing but praise for his countryman and friend and described his play as being full of “passion” and “determination.”
