Earlier this year, it seemed like Lock Poker was adding new young pros to their stable every week or so. With Lock busy setting up their new poker network, it’s easy to understand why that process had slowed down over the last couple of months. But now, Lock is back to securing talent to help promote their room. This week, Lock announced that they’ve signed Brazilian poker pro Felipe Mojave Ramos to a sponsorship deal. Ramos has been a professional poker player since 2008, and is considered one of the top players in the South American poker community. While Ramos has had plenty of success in his native Brazil – including three final table appearances at the 2011 Brazilian Series of Poker – his biggest successes have come in Europe. That’s where Ramos first gained international recognition by making deep runs in several EPT events and side events. Ramos has also has success at the World Series of Poker, making two Pot Limit Omaha final tables in the last four years. Overall, the Hendon Mob database records nearly $500,000 in career tournament cashes for Ramos, placing him fifth on the all-time Brazilian money list for live tournament poker (a list that is topped by the legendary Alexandre Gomes).Ramos is also known in the poker world for his writing abilities. He has written strategy articles for several magazines and websites, and has two books that are expected to be released later this year, including one PLO book. He’s also a popular figure on Twitter.“Felipe is another excellent addition to the Lock family,” said Lock Poker CEO Jennifer Larson. “He is going to take Lock into a whole new world as we move to dominate the South American market.”Ramos also expressed excitement about the move.“I am incredibly happy to be a part of the Lock Poker family and join such a great team with the best players in the world,” he said. “I started playing poker trying to follow their steps and now I have the privilege to be on their side.”
