Texas Holdem is the most popular game of online poker in the entire world, in fact, it’s become the most commonly played poker game period, off and online. The main event of the World Series of Poker is a Holdem game, in fact, it’s the game that got the world’s attention and brought poker out of the back of the bar, and into the living rooms of millions via major tournament series’ that are featured on television.poker gamesHoldem’s played with a regular 52 card poker deck and anywhere from 2 to 10 players. At the beginning of each hand 2 players, the players directly to the left of the dealer make a blind bet, the player closest to the dealer makes the small blind bet, which Is usually half of the actual minimum bet at the table, and the next player makes the big blind bet, usually equal to the table’s minimum bet. Each player is then dealt 2 cards face down, and then a round of betting ensues. Players may call the big blind bet, raise it, or fold their cards. Holdem is a community card game, so the next cards are dealt directly onto the poker table, face up, for all of the players to share. Three cards are dealt, followed by another round of betting. This round is called the flop. Then turn and river are the last two rounds, and they’re played exactly the same, this time 1 card is dealt for all players to share, followed by a round of betting. If no one makes a bet that causes the other’s to fold and forfeit their claim to the pot during any of the betting rounds, then the player with the best hand, based on traditional poker hand rankings wins the pot.

Omaha Poker Games

Omaha Poker is another of the world’s most popular poker games. The game really began growing in popularity in about 2009 when traditional holdem players started branching out looking for a bit more variety in their poker games. The game is played exactly like Texas Holdem, except that the players are each dealt 4 cards, and… now here’s the twist.. Each player MUST use 2 cards from his or her hand, and three cards from the board (the community cards). The major difference that’s created here is that with the addition of more cards, there are a lot more possibilities. So much bigger hands tend to win in the end, and pocket aces aren’t necessarily the best hand preflop. It really changes the poker strategy behind the game.

Omaha Hi/Lo

Omaha Hi/Lo is played just like the other version of the Omaha Poker game described above, with a twist. In the high/low version the highest ranked hand wins half of the pot, and lowest hand wins the other half.

Five Card Draw

Five card draw is a pretty straight forward game. In most cases this game involves an ante that every player pays at the begging of a hand. Then each player receives 5 cards, dealt face down. The plaeyrs look at their cards, and place wagers. Then they discard 1, 2, 3, 4 or all of their cards, and draw new ones replacing the ones they’ve mucked. A new round of betting ensues, and the best hand wins.

Stud Poker Games

Stud poker games are different from Omaha and Holdem games because you’re stuck with what you’re dealt. There’s no drawing like in 5 card draw, and there are no community cards that are shared among all the players. You’re stuck with the studly hand you’re dealt.

Seven Card Stud Poker Games

7 Card Stud is easy an easy to learn poker the basics of which are simple. At the end of the game, it’s the highest five card hand that wins, unless of course you’re playing Seven Card Stud High/Low in which case, the highest and the lowest hands split the pot, this creates a game of seven card stud, and a game of Razz all rolled into one!

Razz – Poker Games

Razz is a variation of 7 Card Stud. The two games are actually quite similar, except that in a game of razz, the worst, not the best hand wins. In Razz, unlike in most poker games Aces are always low. So there’s no Broadway straight (A K Q J T). Poker Sites with Razz Games
